This week, same-sex couples got to start filing for marriage licenses. Even more awesomely, Hello Cupcake decided they would give free cupcakes to the first 200 hundred couples in line to pursue wedded bliss. Guess who wasn’t in that line? Me. Apparently my girlfriend thinks it is dumb to get married for free cupcakes. Clearly, I disagree and am also still a bit bitter. But the good news is that everyone should be in a joyous, celebrating mood this week. But everyone needs some downtime, so why not check out what you missed on TNG this week?

So luckily DC has managed to avoid the snowstorm that is currently pummeling the Northeast, which is great, because the most of the snow has finally melted, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s really excited to not be climbing over snow banks as I’m trying to go out this weekend. But I also kno we’ll all have our lazy moments, and why not use those to catch up on what you missed on TNG?

Okay, so normally I’m all about 4-day work weeks, because the week goes by super fast. Except that’s not really the case when you had the week before off due to snow. Now being at work at all just seems to drag and drag and drag. So it’s finally Friday and after missing some VERY important Olympic coverage to have a social life, I’m excited to change all of that this weekend. And since I’m guessing most people are going to pick a social life over the Olympics this weekend, here’s what you can read while you’re hungover and trying to muster up the strength to go get brunch.

So, it’s the weekend. And even though I had three snow days this week, that doesn’t mean I’m looking forward to it any less than usual. Primarily, because one of my favorite things are starting this week: THE OLYMPICS. While I do like the Summer Olympics a tiny bit better (gymnastics, duh), for the past few weeks I’ve been having a lot of conversations along these lines:

Me: THE OLYMPICS START IN 12 DAYS OMGGGGG.
Friend: That’s really exciting for you, Amelie.

Yeah. I’m pretty excited. Anyway, while you’re watching the qualifying rounds of the men’s ski jump and speed skating tomorrow, or women’s hockey CNBC, why not catch up on some of what you missed on TNG?

I’m not kidding when I say that this week has felt DECADES long. But it’s finally over and it’s time to enjoy the last few holiday parties of the year. And since I’m currently too exhausted from my epic week to be clever, in plain language: here’s what you missed on TNG this week.

Lots of very important and interesting things happened this week. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince came out on DVD with lots of extras, giving me two nights of viewing material. Glee was on, so that was nice. It was also the Top Chef finale, which was also nice. Jack Donaghy said “OMFG” on 30 Rock. And Barbara Walters asked Lady Gaga if she had ever had sex with a woman, which was delightfully awkward. In short, all I’ve done this week is watch TV to try to relieve the stress that is planning holiday get-togethers with your family. Another great way to do that? Catching up on what happened on TNG this week.

The week after holiday is always feels about 100 times longer than normal. The first week back after two weeks of vacation feels about 500 times longer. So I’m sure you can all imagine how I’m feeling right now: T.G.I.F. I’m really excited for a weekend of rest, relaxation and drinking some wine while I watch Little Women during the season’s first snowfall. Because that’s how I roll.

This week, my office has been preparing to change over to a new server. Which will be great. In about 4 days. When it’s over. So far, it hasn’t been so great, because it’s forcing me to actually work while I’m at work. And we all know how I feel about that.

It’s Halloween, which means that most of you will probably be off galavanting all weekend (especially tonight at Transformer), but when Sunday comes around, you’ll really just be looking for something to read while you sort through the various candies you bought the second they went on clearance on CVS. Er, or at least that’s what I’ll be doing. Anyway, for your post-Halloween pleasure, what you missed this week on TNG:

For whatever reason, this week has officially felt like the longest.week.ever. Between the mouse infestation in my house, the various social engagements, and my finally managing to purchasing a pair of real shoes, I’m exhausted. So before I go out vest-hunting this weekend (remember my survey? Take it!), you can find me relaxing in bed, catching up on bad television shows and my internet readings. Here’s what happened this week on TNG, while I was mousetrap- setting/galavanting/getting blisters from my new “real” shoes:
