And lastly check yourself into the Museum of Latin American Art where the Defiant Chronicles are challenging ideas of street art and urban identity into a a high art. Well, this is the kick off to the gay pride circuit and Long Beach is one of the biggest and oldest. Not in the mood for a Pride Festival? Dont worry, TNG has a line up of other queer friendly events that will still bring the celebration to town. This Friday is the 4th annual Pink Party. Saturday, go to prom like how you’ve always wanted with Bootie LA’s special Prom Event Mash-up party and Sunday go and chill at the Red Cat theaters checking out some amazing collision of different styles of Art. Well its Mothers Day this weekend and what a loaded weekend it is for the LA queer scene. SheRAW, Long Beach’s queerest dance party is going Cyborg chic this Friday at Que Sera. Bootie LA is back this Saturday and spinning the best music with some of the old favorites and with some of the most unlikliest parings of music in a collision of fatasmic surprise. And if you want to, there is a screening of Mommie Dearest at the Egyptian Theater that will bring a bonding between mother -daughter or mother-son even closer as Joan Crawford takes you away.

The Newport Beach Film Festival in town with a good queer selection this year. Be sure to check out showtimes and theaters officially sponsored by the Newport Film Festival. Also going this weekend is a marvelous art gallery showing in Long Beach featuring work by Rod Luff and end your week partying with the part time punks post pop indie punk night (Say that three times!). This week in LA, we have a line up of events that will help make this Easter more memorable, apart from the egg hunts and the marshmallow peeps. at the I.O. Spring has sprung, even though we’ve had a few shower storms lately, it is here. Some new things happening in town this weekend. The international Children’s Film festival is at the REDCAT a the Walt Disney Center, which will feature some kid classics and a Nick Family Day with all of our best Nick nostalgia and old school TV programming. Head out to Long Beach to catch their installment of their tribute to David Lynch showcasing WIld at Heart with a young Nicholas Cage and Check out the 7th Annual Aussie BBQ festival at the Echo with an outstanding lineup of Aussie bands you will ever see in LA. 12 Aussie bands in one night only. Kick Spring off right with a tribute to your childhood, a tribute to David Lynch and a good ole’ Aussie BBQ! Have a great weekend!
