Robert Gant is best known for playing Michael Novotny’s HIV positive boyfriend Ben on the American version of Queer as Folk. He’s very talented, an out and proud actor, and very vocal on GLBT issues. Also, my friend met him once and said that he’s totally really nice and that his ass looks incredible in jeans. Whycome is it, then, that I saw him in an Olive Garden commercial yesterday?

Summer is the time when children return home to drive their parents insane. Parents, being the savvy creatures they are, have devised many a tactic to keep their irritating progeny at an arm’s length, including summer school, internships, jobs, and of course, CAMP. What did your parents do to keep you out of the house? Feel free to dive into any sexy sleep-away camp stories that may apply here, too, since I alas never had an overnight camp experience and would welcome the confirmation that at least someone else somewhere else did.

Tyler Wisler is one of the contestants on the upcoming season of Design Star. Full disclosure, he also worked on the same floor of a building in Chelsea for a few years. This had absolutely nothing to do with my stunning feat of journalistic prowess in booking him for an intimate tell-all interview.

I’m assuming very few of us (myself included) were avid followers of the BBC show Torchwood during its three-year run in the UK that ended in 2009. This is a shame, I now realize, because that shit was HOT.
The dashing, devil-my-care main character is Jack Harkness, an immortal bisexual con-man from the future who was spun off from the Dr. Who series. Yes, that’s right, I just used the words “immortal,” “bisexual,” “con-man,” and “from the future” to describe the main character of a wildly popular television show. Perhaps Armageddon is much closer than anyone thought…

This weekend something amazing happened – I started thinking about marrying my boyfriend. When, in the past, I considered the possibility of marriage equality in New York I, of course, expected to feel happy, but what I hadn’t anticipated was how it would change the way I feel about my relationship.

Sparkling soul songstress Jomama Jones is back at it again. She warmed and then stole my heart earlier this year in her cabaret-style show Radiate at the Soho Rep, but apparently this has not contented her. Since the show wrapped this busy little bee has released a new album and recently announced a set of select summertime shows for NYC.

Watching History Channel’s Swamp People is really strange. The subjects of the show are speaking English but almost always need subtitles in order to be understood. They’re conducting brutal wholesale slaughter of alligators but somehow you root for them anyway. But the biggest “huh?” moment for me is the major re-adjustment the show is doing to my gaydar.

Lame-ass macho Pravda rag FHM surprised no one recently by sinking to new depths of strident transphobia. The dude-mag named noted androgynous male model Andrej Pejic as number 98 on its “100 Sexiest Women in the World” list for 2011, and explained their nomination in terms generously described as “ignorant”

I don’t usually click Facebook ads. As the guys here can attest, if you list yourself as a man interested in men, pretty much all you get are ads for laser hair removal, dubious gay dating websites, and Bonobos ads that talk presumptuously about how your boyfriend’s ass would look in their khakis. Earlier this week, though, I saw an ad from an organization called DropFox, asking me to click to show support for an action calling on Orbitz to withdraw support from Fox News. Bearing no great love for holier-than-thou manipulative sideshow anger-theater, I clicked.
