About stephanie

Part visionary, part madwoman, Stephanie Novak spends every day trying to convince people that Salt Lake City is actually cool. Yes, sure, we here in the City of Salt are stuck with the Mormons (all hail Space Jesus!) but we also have a city full to the brim with queer radicals and innovators...you just have to look for 'em. While Salt Lake City does not compare to San Francisco, that leaves those of us here with more opportunities for creating new events, and Stephanie enjoys making things happen. She helped bring Salt Lake's first women/trans open mic-"When She Speaks I Hear the Revolution" to life and hopes to continue the trend of aiding and abetting Salt Lake City's Queer Artistic Revolution.

SLC Weekend Preview: Why Can’t it be Summer all Year ’round? Edition

It took long enough, but Salt Lake City has finally awoken from hibernation and reached the time of season where there’s something amazing happening every day of the week. Especially if you’re music/local arts & craft aficionados. The Gallivan Twilight Concert Series is kicking off in its new location—Pioneer Park—and will feature Modest Mouse and Avi Buffalo. Throughout the month, good local music will be happening all over town—you just need to know where to look for it.
As far as a day by day schedule goes, you’ll have no trouble finding great events and activities. The only problem? Good luck choosing between all the great stuff.
