Boston Weekend Preview: One Night Band

This weekend, there are some of the usual things, but there’s also a couple of strange events that are worth checking out.  Britney’s going to be in town, but if you can manage to tear yourself away from that and hide in Cambridge, get yourself to the Middle East for some local flavor.

Boston Weekend Preview:

This is my last post from D.C. Next week, I’ll be writing from Boston, which should make these previews much more informative. Still, there are three great events in Boston this weekend, so check them out. I’m especially sad to miss Traniwreck, but if there’s a good turn-out, it’ll be back.

This weekend, the boroughs have it for Friday and Saturday, but on Sunday, Boston takes back over with tea dances and performances that’ll be sure to have your heels tapping…

Boston Weekend Preview: The Locals

Boston’s full of little block parties and festivals in the summer, and all the local bands (and locals) come out to play. I’d spend some time walking around your neighborhood, because not everything is as well advertised as the Somerville Fest, the don’t-miss event of the weekend.

Boston Weekend Preview: The Return

From South End to Jamaica Plain, Boston’s queer scene is more about parties, concerts and one-off events than permanent bars or clubs. It can take awhile, therefore, to uncover the alternative/indie/queer scene, because you can’t usually find it in gay bars. For this weekend, the Beantown seems a little sleepy post-Pride and holidays, but there’s some stuff worth checking out.
