After a chilly week, a long (and hopefully warm) weekend will be well-deserved.

Unlike spring cleaning and snow shoveling, digging out warm weather clothing in September is a seasonal chore that I actually enjoy. Sure, there’s always fear that moth repellent chemicals will permanently damage my nerve endings in the process or that my boxes of warm clothes have been infested by any number of pests over the summer months (my bedroom’s in a basement, it happens!). Isn’t sweater weather just great nonetheless?

Twisted variety shows, electropop bliss, Joan Jett, and guerrilla girl bars are the agenda this weekend.

Given this week’s bout of rain and brisk weather, TNG Boston is finally ready to admit that summer has ended. But onward to autumn, or as I like to call it, Pumpkin Spice Latte status update season.

Now that we’ve weathered an earthquake, Irene, and the annual influx of college co-eds into the city, it’s time to kick back and relax over the long weekend, don’t you think? Complain all you want about the freshman and their families crowding the streets with Uhauls and Ikea furniture, at least Boston’s nightlife is going to have plenty of new faces this weekend.
