About Bryan Garcia
Staff Writer bryan@thenewgay.net
A post-punk non-profit computer wench during the day, I'll be dropping by The New Gay from time to time to give you some on-the-spot reporting in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area. I will also attempt to teach each and every one of you how to drink Fernet one shot (with ginger ale back) at a time.

Okay, scene queens– how many of you got wet this past month? We were all wishing for the rain, rain to go away, but it didn’t stop San Francisco from play, play and playin’. Time for the March redux– more pictures from San Francisco’s alternative and queer culture. And if you missed previous month’s editions, check em’ out here. There were also so many freakin’ club parties in March that I’m almost embarrassed that I only managed to get to three of them.

My favorite local indie rock blog, The Bay Bridged, has compiled 4 excellent “mixtape” downloads as part of their 2010 end-of-the-year round-up. For anyone new to San Francisco or just interested in San Francisco’s live music scene, these downloads make an excellent primer for learning which bands are making some noise in the Bay Area.

Fast-forward a year or so later, and Hunx—aka, Seth Bogart—needs no stinkin’ introduction. You could even say he’s San Francisco’s enfant terrible of the indie rock scene, putting the swish n’ swagger into his own brand of retro rock n’ roll. On December 10, Yerba Buena Center of the Arts is hosting its Un-Holiday Party: Noël Noir, and Hunx will be one of many acts taking the stage (along with Honey Soundsystem, yay!). And next year, Hunx will release his first full-length album. This un-holiday eve, Bogart took some time out to answer a few questions for The New Gay.
