Daddy’s Barbershop

Because there aren’t enough barbershops in the Castro, I’m letting you know about one more that opened a few weeks ago. Jeff Cilione has opened Daddy’s Barbershop on 19th and Castro. Joined by Arlen Lasater and Tom Manning, the trio have been cutting shaving hair in San Francisco’s most famous gay neighborhood for a few years now at other shops. Jeff has been personally responsible for making me look pretty for the last two years which is worth a purple heart in and of itself. Support your community and next time you’re in the neighborhood, get your shave, haircut n’ two bits here. Ask for Daddy Bruno…

Human Rights & Film: Youth Producing Change

Yerba Buena Center for the Arts showcases human rights themed movies throughout the month of March. The second of these films is called Youth Producing Change and it is exactly what it sound– a film made by young people to express their views on human rights.

Love Triangle: A Polyamorous and Non-Monogamous Social Event

Love Triangle claims to be “… a club night for people who are poly, open, swingers, or otherwise nonmonogamous, along with their monogamous friends.” Entertainment for the evening includes DJs Tomas Diablo and Femme Mystique, the Black Widows burlesque troop and Phillipe of Edible Love selling chocolate treats. Dress code is goth, fetish, 80’s fashion, cocktail chic, or street clothes. However, you cannot be nude.

Noise Pop 18 Weekend Wrap-up

On Friday night, I was making small talk with some of the other partiers at Benders Bar and we were asking each other what kind of music we listened to. We both felt like complete idiots saying we listened to “indie.” Go figure… This past weekend, Noise Pop 18 went into overdrive.
