Now that we’ve weathered an earthquake, Irene, and the annual influx of college co-eds into the city, it’s time to kick back and relax over the long weekend. Complain all you want about freshman crowding the streets with Uhauls and Ikea furniture; at least Boston’s nightlife is about to get plenty of new faces. Here’s what’s happening:
THURSDAY
- Tonight the girls of GTL are taking their party at Tommy Doyle’s up a notch with GirlSpot-inspired dance party after the venue’s weekly trivia. Details: Tommy Doyles (Harvard Square). 96 Winthrop Street. Cambridge. 8pm-2am. FREE. 21+.
- Aside from GTL, there are four more weekly queerific parties going on around town: Circus Thursdays at Club Cafe, Glamlife, Queeraoke, and Karaoke Thursday at Machine Check event websites for details.
FRIDAY
- Lovingly described as a “burlesque of high school nerdy dreams come true”, Geek Girl Boston presents The Tardis Tease tonight at Oberon tonight. Details: Oberon. 2 Arrow Street. Cambridge (Harvard). 8pm. TIX – $10+. 18+.
- Weekly girls party Venus Room hosts Babes in Boinkland tonight featuring DJ LeahV. Details: FELT Nightclub. 522 Washington Street. Boston. $5 before 11pm or w/college ID. $10 after. 21+.
SATURDAY
- If you’re looking for a hangover cure (or to extend your weekend bender), look no further than Karl’s Rant, a new “disco/funk/whatever brunch” at Zuzu. Check out the FB page for the menu and more Details: Zuzu. 472 Mass. Ave. 8am-3pm.
- Machine’s No Tomorrow – Aftershock party is inspired by our recent brushes with natural disasters (and perhaps most loathesome of all, alarmist weathermen and women). DJs Mistaker and Ascention spin. Details: Machine. 1254 Boylston Street. Boston. 10pm-2am. $5. 21+.
SUNDAY
- Foxy and Videodrome are teaming up for an epic pre-Labor Day celebration in Central Square tonight. Details: Zuzu. 472 Mass. Ave. 10pm-2am. $5. 21+.
