It’s really hard to answer this question without being entirely too sincere or obnoxiously ironic, but if, as the album cover suggests, the dark unknown is like a cabinet of curiousities, I visit it every day. The bright familiar just ain’t my style.

Yay, more music from Holcombe. If you interview him for TNG, ask him about his DC stalker!!!

I moved to a different state 2 weeks into my freshman year of high school and not knowing anybody, moving away from my friends and adjusting to the whole situation was truly a dark unknown. It turned out okay i guess. I made new friends but I got senioritis 4 years early.

((I feel like marriage would be the least dark of unknowns)).

My dark unknowns involve constantly starting over. New homes, new countries, new friends, new goals. For me, it’s being all alone in an unfamiliar land, and there is nothing familiar to bring comfort, but knowing there’s a past that you made the choice to leave behind, for better or for worse… that’s what freaks me the fuck out. Luckily, everything always falls into place, the visions around me become clear, and the darkness fades away. But the actual start of starting over is the scary part. If I hadn’t done it so many times, I’d probably still think it couldn’t be done. ;)

Even if you can’t see anything, follow your heart and you’ll find your way.

Sorry, I just realized that was more than 1-2 sentences, haha. The heart of it is in boldface, though :P.

If I had to pinpoint a time, I would say that when my cousin died and I had to move into a new life without him, that would have been a time that I had had to travel to the Dark Unknown

Forgetting about the hurt in the past, embracing the present, and taking a chance on the future. Working out very well so far……

Actually more like “Forgetting about the hurt in the past, embracing the present, and trekking into the dark unknown future.

The 80s was the dark unknown for me and countless others. We were watching so many pass on from something that for awhile had no name. Hiv/Aids ravaged my community and affected so many the same while at the same time treating others so differently as it was an opportunistic disease. However it manifested itself it was diabolical. I doubt that I will ever know a darker unknown.
