Song of the Day: TV Girl, Benny and the Jetts EP

This post was submitted by Rohan

This morning I had a surprise in my inbox. Sample-pop duo TV Girl have just released a new EP for free on their Facebook. The four song ten minute EP Benny and the Jetts is an improvement on their first EP (and hopefully this time they on’t get a cease and desist from a shitty major label!) with stronger beats and even catchier melodies. “Benny and the Jetts” is not a cover of the Elton John song, but a track about a girl leaving the singer’s life to “Benny and the Jetts.” “Baby You Were There” has a classic beat not unlike The Avalanches with sweet pop vocals on top. “Lizzy Come Back To Life” has a tike lounge dance feel that is pure 60′s hipster cool. “You Own Religion” is a song about losing someone with a joyous A.M. radio feel. TV Girl are a band to look out for.
