Song of the Day: Real Estate, “It’s Real”

This post was submitted by Rohan

NJ rockers Real Estate have spent the two years since the relese of their debut record Real Estate toying the globe bring positive beach vibes everywhere. Beyond just playing as Real Estate, Matt Mondanile moonlights as Ducktails, who put out pretty awesome record this year) and Alex Bleeker has his own band, Alex Bleeker and the Freaks, who also put out a new record this year. Gaining popularity in the indie circles, Real Estate have changed labels from the small Woodsist to the bigger indie powerhouse Domino Records. Today’s song of the day is the first single from the recently announced sophomore record Days. Ditching the home recording stick for higher production values and the work of Kevin McMahon “It’s Real” is instantly one of Real Estates best songs in their catalog. The track is clean and polished in all the right places and the “whoa oh” hook is catchy. Unlike previous Real Estate tracks, the lyrics were buried under the tangling guitars, but now each has it’s place.
