Hanging out with certain friends is a minefield — between the secrets I hear that I’m not supposed to share, the secrets I know that I’m not supposed to know, and the smaller stuff like the party I went to that someone else wasn’t invited to, I’m never sure what I’m allowed to talk about!
Given my partner’s proclivity for leaving things (shoes, bags, beer bottles) lying around, my apartment is a battlefield. I generally have to weave my way carefully through the detritus and duck the missiles when I comment on it.
Riding the metro on rush hour is definately a battlefield, between the pushing, the smells and the occasional pervy trying to touch you in places you don’t even let your doctor touch is a wonder I haven’t fallen victim of post traumatic stress disorder…just sayin’
=)
Being both a lesbian and Britney Spears’ biggest fan. Self explanatory.
I work in a restaurant. Between foreign customers wandering confusedly, oversized SUV strollers blocking the way, new and inexperienced waiters flailing about, and children climbing on shelves, boxes and whatever other items they can put their hands on, work is a battlefield!
Healthcare has been a battle field for me. Because you’re a gay patient , you’re supposed to be flattered by being sexually harassed , you’re suppposed to be sbjugated and marginalized like a woman in the 40′s and not mind and you’re supposed to be an idiot so you’re not supposed to have medical concerns or questions or to expect respectful and factual explaintations. Or atleast this has been my experience at MCV/VCU.
