MORE ABOUT THE SHOW:
I Love You (We’re F*#ked) is a tale of lost love spun into a hilariously absurd odyssey about a gay man looking back over the greatest loves (and sex) of his life and features new music from his 2011 EP January Dream. After a break up in West Hollywood, Kevin moved to Indiana to recover and write. “This was the first time in my life where I really fulfilled the stereotypical heartbroken songwriter with a bottle of booze thing. I feel these songs deeply.” says Thornton. He left Indiana for Nashville to write Up To No Good with Kacey Musgraves (Nashville Star) and recorded songs from the show for an EP with 2 time Grammy nominee Mark Chevalier (Margaret Cho).
Thornton is one of a few artists making a living on the Fringe Festival circuit performing in 10 festivals in 2011 as well as theaters and clubs across the country. The show opened in February at the NYC Frigid Festival then debuted at Tucson, Phoenix and Orlando Fringe Festivals this spring. Thornton will also premiere at Kansas, Minnesota and San Francisco Fringe Festivals later this year and return to DC’s Capital, Indianapolis and Cincinnati Fringe Festivals where he first explored this style of performance with his 2009 Sex, Dreams & Self Control. That national tour caught the attention of the LA Times and NPR’s All Things Considered and Thornton spent 2010 in the Los Angeles comedy scene where he won New Faces Night at The World Famous Comedy Store. Martin Denton at nytheatre.com reviewed Thornton’s 2011 show saying, “he’s an enormously likeable performer, and a talented one.”
Thornton performs on his Grandfather’s 1954 Gibson ES-125 found after he died in near mint condition with a 1954 receipt stuck underneath the strings. On the receipt was written ‘Promises to pay $5 a week.’
Thornton has a weekly Podcast, “Strange Dreamz with Kevin J. Thornton”, an active blog www.kevinjthornton.com and has a business blog with manager Carol Buttenham. Thornton and Buttenham discuss their insights on the entertainment business and what has worked for them creating the Kevin J. Thornton brand, touring and being successful through social media at www.famousontheinside.com.
First time here? See what we're all about... Get involved... Send us a tip!...

We’re gay men–men who love men–and yet we adore female divas, imitating them as drag queens on stage and as drama queens in real life. It’s queer and absurd and integral to our culture–thank God!
Even though we are a minority group which attempts to seek equality and recognition from the majority, we persecute and oppress our own on all levels.
Human written communication took thousands of years to evolve from drawn pictures to symbols, words, and eventually syntax. Yet isn’t the most crucial information on Grindr/Manhunt/etc. usually conveyed through pictures and symbols? It’s absurd (and wonderful) that no matter how far our technology evolves, when it comes to hooking up, our language rarely ever really changes.
