Weekend Preview: Boston Weekend Preview: Shake Your Pillow Feathers

This post was submitted by Carrie

Think you have nothing to look forward to this weekend besides demoralizing 40-something degree weather that makes summer in Boston seem a mythical creature not unlike unicorns or a sober Charlie Sheen? Well, I’m happy to report that you’re wrong. While you may be chilly, you can keep busy with some naughty bike porn, a second week of guerrilla gays, and a flashmob pillow fight. And this is just the tip of the April iceberg. All in a weekend’s work, Boston.
Here’s the plan…

THURSDAY

FRIDAY
  • Put down your messenger bag, roll down your pant leg, and stop freaking out drivers and pedestrians for a moment in order to check out CineMental’s Bike Porn at Brattle Theatre tonight. Truth Serum promises an evening of “…short films made by folks of all genders and sexualities with the common theme of bikesexuality, bikeuriosity, and bike objectification.” Things might get greasy. Details: Brattle Theatre. 40 Brattle St., Cambridge (Hvd Square). 11:59pm. Tickets – $10.
  • Guerrilla Queer Bar heads downtown tonight (get your mind out of the gutter!). Venue location details will be posted online Thursday or Friday. Details: TBA venue downtown. 9pm. 21+.
SATURDAY
  • Catch this weekend’s second and final late night showing of CineMental’s Bike Porn at Brattle Theatre. The show starts just before midnight. Details: Brattle Theatre. 40 Brattle St., Cambridge (Hvd Square). 11:59pm. Tickets – $10.
  • Banditos Misteriosos is organizing Boston’s participation in the World’s Largest Pillow Fight today. Cities from Cape Town to Tel Aviv will be holding flashmob pillow fights. Last year Boston came in 2nd place worldwide for most participants, so prepare to get pummeled! Check the Miseriosos page for location details on late Friday night. Details: TBA location. 2:55pm. All ages. BYOP(illow).
  • Randolph’s twice monthly party Kiss N’ Bang is at it again this week at RCC. Aries birthdays get in free tonight. Details: RCC 44 Mezzeo Drive, Randolph. 9pm. $5 before 10:30pm, $8 after. 21+.
SUNDAY
  • Zuzu is home to queer men’s dance party FOXY tonight, which takes over the bar the first and third Sunday of each month. Expect manly dancing, drinking and debauchery. Details: Zuzu. 474 Mass. Ave., Cambridge (Central). 10pm-1am. $3. 21+.

That’s it for this week, but keep in mind that you can post events for this weekend in the Comments section or email me with future events at carrie@thenewgay.net Also get in touch if you’d like  to get involved in with The New Gay in Boston (writing, event planning, photography, etc.). And as always, stay informed about weekday and weekend happenings by following us on Twitter: @tngboston. Happy weekending!
