Event Details: Nikki Giovanni - Busboys & Poets: Tuesday, January 11

This Tuesday, award-winning poet, writer, and activist Nikki Giovanni will sign and discuss her collection of The 100 Best African American Poems at Busboys & Poets.

The 100 Best African American Poems highlights a vibrant collection of works that spans from historic to modern, from structured to free-form, and reflects the rich roots and visionary future of African American verse. From Gwendolyn Brooks and Langston Hughes to Tupac Shakur, Natasha Trethewey, E. Ethelbert Miller and many others, the voice of a culture comes through in this collection, one that is as talented, diverse, and varied as its people.

Nikki will be signing copies of the new book and leading a discussion during a free and open full-store event. Several of Giovanni’s titles, including the featured title, will be available for purchase at the Global Exchange store located within the restaurant.
