Philly throwback rockers Free Energy helped TNG contribute to Dan Savage’s “It Gets Better” project with this special live version of their song “Hope Child.” Though it is not melancholy, like our last such contribution, Hope Child is one of TNG’s top anti-suicide anthems for achieving a difficult balance: It’s a song about despair and perseverance that you can head bang too. Not easy, right? When I was going through the young, gay dark years a song like this would’ve done a lot to help me out. I hope the people who need it are able to find it, so help us spread the word.
