As summer comes to a close, there are still plenty of things to do in Los Angeles this weekend that will certainly pique an art and music fiends curiosities. Feeling a bit crafty? Head to the Long Beach Gay and Lesbian Center where you can get DIY tips on how to make a jewelry box with local queer artists. First Fridays galore in LA as Stonework Studios in Ventura showcase many LA’s diverse talents. Ventura First Fridays will also be holding an Art Gallery crawl of various art exhibits and artist that will attend to any art connoisseur’s tastes. And end your week with an outdoor alternative music festival in Los Angeles’ Old Historic Park. It’s great for all ages and free for children under 10.
Thursday: Calling all you Do-it-yourself-ers! AMP organization is creating a new Crafter Hours happening during the first Thursdays of every month at The Center in Long Beach (2017 E. 4th Street, Long Beach CA, 900814). The event is FREE and will feature a local queer artist, showing of their unique style and demonstrating their talents. Each attendee will be supplied with materials to create their own works of art.

First Fridays:
No Artificial Flavors present First Friday At Stoneworks Studios (300 N. Ventura Ave, Ventura CA 93001). It is a FREE event, great for all ages and s’mores will be available. Art and S’mores- what more can ask for? The event will feature the artwork of over 20 artists with diverse artistic styles and talents ranging from mixed media to alabaster sculpture. Live music is provided by Weasels Exist and Spoken Word by Mine+ US.
@the Catwalk Club
Looking for an event for Women who love women? The Catwalk Club is having their First Fridays event which features guest DJ Justin-credible. This is a one night only event so come and experience what everybody is saying a crazy night at the Catwalk.
The event is located on 801 W Temple Street, Los Angeles Ca 90012
$5 before 10pm
$10 after 10pm.
FYF Music Fesitval will be the happening place this Saturday in Los Angeles State Historic Park. They will feature over 30 musicians including the Screaming Females, Abe Vigoda and Thee Oh Sees. The event is great for all-ages and Children under 10 get in for FREE. The event will also feature vintage flee market, a record swap meet, carnival games and vegan and vegetarian options.
Tickets are $30 dollars, Free for Children under 10.
