TNG TV: Dear God, I Love Jamie Stewart
(Note: This video was shot back in April but is just being posted now due to technical difficulties. Not sure why I’m only half in the frame. And christ, do I miss my mohawk.)
Art-rock/Noise-rock/Panic-attack-rock stalwarts Xiu Xiu are about as divisive as circus peanuts. People tend to either fall into the bands rabid, near-committable fan base, or they think the band’s music is actually a high-frequency transmission from The 456. Actually, some fans like them because of that reason.
Regardless, their bisexual (and yes, handsome) frontman Jamie Stewart was nice enough to sit down with me in a van outside of DC’s DC9 nightclub and chat about life. Check it out.
Morrissey purists should feel free to mock me for not understanding the glasses reference, though be warned you can’t make me feel dumber than I already do for that one.

jamie turned me down when i offered to smoke him out after a richmond show. guess i came off as a dweeby fan boy. angela and their tour mgr were cool though.
