Event Details: Last night at She-Raw - :
Last night was the debut of what I hope becomes a regular party here in Long Beach: She-Raw at the Que Sera (7th and Cherry). She-Raw is a queer super-hero dance party, spinning music by female artists, like Beth Ditto, Joan Jett, Tiffany, and Terri Nunn (Berlin). Sort of like a West Coast She Rex, but with more spandex.
Annie Parkhurst and Sylvia Rodemeyer conceived and organized the night as a benefit for AMP, a new Long Beach-based nonprofit to help support young artists in the LGBTQIA community, with the cover going directly to fund this group.
There were superheroes aplenty, though clearly Wonder Woman was the belle of the ball. Here are a few pics of some of the more memorable costumes from last night!
