Washington DC: Writing Workshop: Writing on Gender, the Body and Society
Event Details: Writing Workshop: Writing on Gender, the Body and Society - The Rabbit Room: Saturday, April 17
This Saturday, mothertongue presents a special writing workshop that explores the workings of the body as it relates to gender and societal stereotypes, facilitated by Seattle poet Denise Jolly. The workshop is open to all gender identities, and will be a safe space for folks to speak openly about their own identity.
Denise Jolly loves to find herself at the intersection of art and community. She has performed, taught, and/or collaborated in venues as large as UC Santa Cruz, Burning Man, and Coachella and venues as small as Cook County Detention Center, Cleveland High School, and Seattle Youth Speaks writing circle.
Registration is $25. To register and for more information, email dmevennou@gmail.com. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
