Though the honey-voiced singer Natalia Clavier was born in Argentina and currently resides in New York, her work with Thievery Corporations’ ESL Music will permanently associate her in my mind with Washington DC. The above track, ”Nada,” was filmed in ESL’s Calvert St. rowhouse with guitar contributions from a very handsome man wearing a very silly mask. The crash you hear in the middle was caused by one of the house’s resident felines, providing the only jarring moment in an otherwise languid number.
