Weekend Preview: Columbus Weekend Preview: Spring Spoken Word Edition

This post was submitted by Danny

Henry Rollins brings his spoken word tour to Columbus and Clutch rocks out at the Newport. It’s a slower weekend than usual for shows following this crazy past week that included Vampire Weekend, Joanna Newsom, Passion Pit, Tegan And Sara, Deerhunter, Fanfarlo, Train, Mayer Hawthorne, Bear Hands, Steel Train, Holly Miranda, and more, but if Henry and Clutch aren’t your cup of tea, Kamp Kountry Jamboree with do BEARvillities at Tradewinds II and the Sodom And Gomorrah show will play at Wall Street. Plenty of other events going on as well. Plus – it feels like Spring!
Friday
  • Henry Rollins hits up the LC Pavilion for his Frequent Flyer spoken word tour.
  • Union hosts Equality Happy Hour – A laid back FUN-draiser where you can enjoy Premium martinis for $4 alongside complimentary hors d’ouvres. $1 of every martini goes back to Equality Ohio, HRC, 2010 Softball World Series, and the Stonewall Democrats
  • City Center play a $5 show at Cafe Bourbon Street at 8PM.
  • The cast of Kamp Kountry Jamboree does BEARvillities at Tradewinds II.
  • It’s First Friday at Wall Street – the biggest night of each month – with no cover, $2 domestics from 8-9, and past and current dance classics spinning with DJ Michele.
  • Exile hosts First Friday Fetist Night: Daddy/Boy/Dom/Sub theme.
  • Axis has First Friday Frat Night with free admission with college ID. Hot jocks in Pump @ 10PM.
