On tap for the weekend… Cubcakes. Sex Ed for faeries. Perverts. Rainbows over the Middle East. Bears on top. Bears on the bottom.

Friday

• Cubcake @ Lonestar Saloon. I am drawing a complete blank. I don’t even know how to connect the dots between cupcakes and hairy bears, but maybe that’s even more reason to check out Lone Star Saloon’s monthly Cubcake dance party. Music by DJ Medic. Details: Starts at 9 PM at the Lone Star Saloon on 1354 Harrison Street.

Saturday

• Queericulum. Co-sponsored by the Center for Sex and Culture, “This is the one day school of a gay man’s dreams – a day full of homo-focused workshops with a dinner theatre cabaret in the evening celebrating the upcoming short film Skinnyfat.” Learn everything from faerie anthropology to “Buttfucking Skills.” Check out the event website for a full syllabus. Details: “Tuition” is $20, starts at 10 AM at Mama Calizo’s Voice Factory on 1519 Mission Street and 11th Street.
• Perverts Put Out! Another round of thought-provoking (RE: controversial) activist gay readings and performances. Artists will include Jane Cassell, Sherilyn Connelly, Gina de Vries, Thomas Roche, Horehound Stillpoint, and more. Hosted by Dr. Carol Queen and Simon Sheppard. Also benefits the Center for Sex and Culture. Details: Starts at 7:30 PM, $10-$15 at the door at CounterPULSE on 1310 Mission Street.
• Club Nur @ Club 8. San Francisco’s monthly gay Middle Eastern party returns to Club 8 this Saturday. Promises a free hookah bar all night long. Salam wa aleikum, gurl. Details: Starts at 9 PM at Club 8 on 1151 Folsom Street.

Sunday

• 3rd Annual Bottoms Up @ The Big Top. This is an Annual Fund Raiser for Team BEAR – AIDS Life Cycle SF. Music provided by DJs Agent Adam, Craig Gaibler, Dabecy, Dann Edmond,
  Papa Tony, and Robot Bomb Shelter. Details: Starts at 5 PM at the Bench and Bar on 510 17th Street, Oakland.
• Honey Sunday with Dabecy @ Paradise Lounge. Straight off Bottoms Up, Electronic Music Bear, Dabecy, heads over to Honey Soundsystem for Honey Sundays. Details: $3 cover at 11 PM at 1501 Folsom Street and 11th Street.
