Event Details: Legalized Gay: Race, Faith and DC Marriage Equality - Howard and Georgetown Universities: Tuesday, March 30, Wednesday, March 31Wednesday, March 31

This Tuesday at Howard University and Wednesday at Georgetown University, Campus Progress will host a panel examining the impact of race and faith on the debate over marriage equality.

The panels will examine the role race and faith played in securing marriage equality in DC and how it could impact similar campaigns across the country in the future. DC Councilmember David Catania, a major sponsor of DC marriage equality, will attend the Georgetown University event.

Both events are being sponsored by Campus Progress, Freedom to Marry, and the Human Rights Campaign HBCU Outreach Program. The Howard event is also being sponsored by the Howard University Coalition of Activist Students Celebrating the Acceptance of Diversity and Equality (CASCADE), and the Georgetown event being sponsored by Georgetown University Pride.
