TNG TV: Don’t Call Erin McKeown a Lesbian

First time here? See what we're all about... Get involved... Send us a tip!...
Yesterday, queer lady musician extraordinaire Erin McKeown was nice enough to give me a couple of minutes of her time while she was in DC, at the 930 Club, opening for Ani DiFranco. The Virginia bred, Northampton based artist (who is currently supporting her album Hundreds of Lions) talks about coming out professionally, how it has(n’t) influenced her sound and the way women live in the shadow of Ani .

Great interview. This was a nice perspective on an artist I hadn’t heard of until she opened for Ani.
LOVE erin. amazing stuff, i’ve liked her for years. fun interview. stumbled upon this site via afterellen. one thing, though, hon, as a fellow reporter: you have GOT to get your names straight (no pun). there’s nothing more insulting to the interviewee. and, no offense, but you’re interviewing a queer woman for a post that will likely be seen by tons of other queer women: learn how to pronounce ani’s last name. srsly. your questions are good, but you committed one of the biggest journalistic faux pas. xoxo
i wish she wasnt a lesbian.
she is femininely hot, and as a guy, thats really a waste.
“she is femininely hot, and as a guy, thats really a waste.”
— not so much a waste as, umm, your loss.
