Uncategorized: DC Trans Coalition: Today! DCTC testifying before the DC Council about the DC jails

Today, DCTC will be testifying before the DC Council’s Committee on Public Safety and the Judiciary at the annual oversight hearing on the Department of Corrections. As we mentioned earlier this week, the DOC has been less than forthcoming about if or how it is implementing the trans housing policy we secured from them about a year ago.
Today’s hearing begins at 10am and includes a few other agencies, in addition to DOC. If you follow us on Facebook or Twitter, we’ll let you know when we’re about to testify.
PLEASE come down to the Council chamber at the Wilson Building (1350 Pennsylvania Avenue NW) to show your support. If you can’t make it downtown, you can watch the hearing live on channel 13.
