Weekend Preview: Boston Weekend Preview: Love Wins! Edition

Event Details: Boston Weekend Preview: Love Wins! Edition - :

Chalk another point up for the ‘mos!  Yesterday same-sex marriage was legalized in my former town of Washington DC.  But you guys already knew that, right?  While I do miss my old city, I can’t tell you how thankful I am to have moved from one homo-loving town to another – especially one that recognizes the need for great music and nightlife too.  With that in mind, here’s what’s on the agenda for this weekend…

Tonight

  • The Chinese Stars play the indie/electro dance party Throwed, which features resident DJs E-Marce and Mr. Matt. Details: Middle East (Upstairs). 480 Mass. Ave., Cambridge. $10. 9pm-1:30am. 18+.

Friday

  • Boston-bred indie rockers Pretty & Nice bring their cache of happy, bouncy songs to Middle East.  Details: Middle East (Upstairs). 480 Mass Ave., Cambridge. 7pm doors. Tickets $9/adv., $10/door. 18+.
  • Guerrilla Queer Bar is downtown tonight as the monthly flashmob of gays (is there a better kind?) descends on Market.  Details: Market. 120 Water Street. 9pm-2am. 21+.

Saturday

  • Copeland plays a sold out show at Middle East tonight.  Luckily, Craigslist still has some tickets available, but you’ll have to act fast if you want to see this leg of the band’s farewell tour.  Details: Middle East (Downstairs). 480 Mass. Ave., Cambridge. 8pm.

  • What else is on the calendar? Well, there’s always the weekly Mayhem party at Club Café.  DJs Aga and Dom Armano will be spinning. Details: Club Café. 209 Columbus Ave., Boston. 10pm-2am. 21+.

Sunday

  • Alright, so I’m not exactly sure what FOXY is, but any event advert that proclaims, “FOXY BOYS SCALE THE HIGHEST TABLES TO WRITHE LIKE WARRIORS POSSESSED!” has already won over my sick, Sunday curiosity.  Details: Zuzu. 474 Mass. Ave., Cambridge. w/DJs Joseph Colbourne, James America, and Nathanael Bluhm. 9pm. 21+.
