Song of the Day: Wakey! Wakey!, “22″
Wakey! Wakey! are a pretty young band, but have already carved a name for themselves through playing countless music fests and getting picked up by the new radio: television. Not only is the band featured in the new IPad commercial, but band leader Michael Grubbs was featured on CW’s One Tree Hill (yeah, that show still exists), laying a dude who gets picked up by the in-town A-R rep (which I should say true story: I watched a full season of this show while I lived on my sister’s couch from 2007-2008 and it was the craziest show in the entire world. That said I should know character’s names, but I am too lazy to even go do research). Grubbs and his band’s second album Almost Everything I Wish I’d Said The Last Time I Saw You… is out on March 16th, but take a listen to the catchy preview track “22”. It is pretty understated, but undeniably catchy. For a band featured by Apple and the CW you’d think it’d be terrible, but it isn’t!
