I’ve been watching the Olympics all week long. ‘ Cause frankly, they’re ain’t nothin’ gayer than men’s figure skating. Don’t believe me? Check out Aunt Joyce’s recap of the men’s short program. In between watching spandex-on-ice and Lindsey Jacobellis choking at yet another Olympic snowboard cross race, take some time out this weekend to get even more scatterbrained at these fine music-filled events.

Friday

• Scatterbrain Jamboree 2010 Day 1 @ Thee Parkside. Starting Friday night, Thee Parkside hosts a two-day indie music festival– all proceeds of which go to the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. And guess what? All these bands are awesome. I checked out their Myspace pages (yes, Myspace still has a pulse) and was pleasantly surprised at both the creativity and diversity of the music. On Friday: Top Critters, Unit Breed, Hélène Renaut, Sleeptalks, and Ugly Winner. My top pick for the weekend, so come out and join me. Details: Doors open at 9 PM, $10 for Friday only or $16 for Friday and Saturday. At Thee Parkside on 1600 17th Street.
• Bike Porn 3: Cycle Bound @ The Roxie Theater. Well, I don’t know ’bout you, but when I’m driving home after a long, hard day of work, the last thing I want to deal with is the peloton of bikers that use the Steiner Street corridor to get from Duboce to the Haight. I swear Ima gonna run over one of those bitches one day. In the meantime, here’s some bike porn to tide you over. Details: Show starts at 11:20 PM, $9.75 for tickets at The Roxie Theater 3117 16th Street. Shows on both Friday and Saturday.

Saturday

• Scatterbrain Jamboree 2010 Day 2 @ Thee Parkside. Day 2 includes: Street Score, Hightower, Clay Wheels, Dan P and the Bricks, Hans Keller, Evacuee, The Dead Westerns, Paranoids, Bird, Botron, and Talky Tina. You can’t beat this for the price! Details: Doors open at 3 PM, $10 for Saturday only or $16 for Friday and Saturday. At Thee Parkside on 1600 17th Street.
• Sissy Fit @ Sub Mission. Trans Am’s monthly homopunx party gets a visit from aspiring politico, Anna Conda. Live performance by 9021-HO. Details: Doors open at 10 PM, $6 cover, at Sub Mission on 2183 Mission Street and 18th Street.
• Cockfight @ Underground SF. Another fave monthly party, this one for the techno set. Promises a free Matt Hite mix CD for the first 25 people through the door. Their website urges you to “text the fuck buddies or invite them via Facebook.” Is that even remotely sexy? I guess I’m just too old… Details: Free before 10 PM and $6 after; at Underground SF on 424 Haight Street.
