Last week was just the kickoff of zombie season. Continue appreciating the undead at Urban Death, a collection of macabre vignettes from the Zombie Joe Underground Theater Group (4850 Lankershim Blvd) in North Hollywood. No dialogue, just horror.

LA Street Food Fest! One of the best things about Los Angeles is its street food culture. And at last we have a festival to celebrate it! There will be over FIFTY street food vendors, all gathered in one spot (XXXX). In addition to LA’s celebrated taco trucks, expect to find Korean BBQ, banh mi, dosas, kabobs, and all sorts of goodies from the vendors that plow the streets of LA. There will also be crafts and goods for sale, as well as a table to make your own valentine’s cards.

If all the street food has you and your honey feeling fattie, maybe you should consider the 8 Presidents Ride. Meet at 10:30 at Hoover and Wilshire with your bike and get set for a 30-mile journey that will the streets named for our nation’s leaders (mostly from Downtown to Culver City): Hoover, Jefferson, Van Buren, Lincoln, Madison, Jackson, Washington, and finally Adams. It seems that Reagon, Nixon, and Bush streets were too far out of the way.

Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes! The New Beverly Cinema (7165 West Beverly Blvd) is showing my favorite movie ever at midnight! Catch The Last American Virgin, easily the Eighties’ most influential and underappreciated teenage sex comedy. The plot couldn’t be simpler: Gary wants to lose his virginity. But beyond the sexy hijinx lies a surprisingly touching story. And an amazing soundtrack.

Lovers and Strangers Art & Music Festival at the Echoplex (1154 Gelndale Blvd). Many bands (The Idyllists, Radio Freq, WHITE ARROWS and Xanimo) as well as several DJs, both indoors and out!
