Weekend Preview: Boston Weekend Preview: Keeping It Simple Edition

Event Details: Boston Weekend Preview: Keeping It Simple Edition - :

TNG’s Boston editor Carries brings you this post.

While this weekend’s events come without the bells and whistles of last week’s festivities, they’re no less entertaining, especially if you feel like dancing.  Get out with your friends or lover(s) and enjoy a pressure-free weekend.  No excuses, those Valentine’s chocolates are long gone anyway

Tonight

  • Zuzu!, Cambridge’s ever-eccentric bar, is hosting Mango Beat Club, a mod dance party.  Details: Zuzu!. 474 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge. 10pm-2am. 21+.
  • If mod isn’t your style, you can check out Throwed next door, at The Middle East’s weekly indie/electro dance party. Details: The Middle East (Upstairs). 480 Mass Ave., Cambridge. Music by DJ E-MarcĂ©. $10 cover. 9pm-1:30am. 18+.
  • Don’t forget about Queeraoke at Midway CafĂ©.  A ladies party with drinking, dancing and, of course, karaoke.  Details: Midway CafĂ©. 3496 Washington St., Jamaica Plain. Sets by DJ Summer’s Eve. 10pm-2am. $5 cover. 21+.
  • If you enjoy Second Saturdays at Machine, check out Shuttavac’s weekly ladies party at OM, Alternative Mixed Thursdays featuring music by DJ Bugra. Details: OM. 92 Winthrop St,. Cambridge. 10-2am. $5 cover. 21+.

Friday

  • Boston is getting a double-dose of Guerrilla Queer Bar this month, with the gays hitting up Wonder Bar in Allston for a GQB charity take over.  Donations made at the door will benefit the LGBT Aging Project, which provides life-prolonging services to the older LGBT community.  Come out and keep up the group’s tradition of “giving-back-while-getting-messy.” Details: Wonder Bar. 186 Harvard Ave., Allston. 8pm. 21+.

Saturday

  • Epic Saturdays at House of Blues are celebrating the release of Madonna’s new single, Revolver, with DJ Dena Cucci. Details: House of Blues. 15 Lansdowne Street, Boston. Free before 11pm, $15 after. 21+.
  • If you’re not feeling the club scene, consider having a religious experience like none other at ‘Til Death Do Us Part: Late Night Catechism 3“, Club Café’s “sinfully hilarious” show.  Classroom participation is a must, so bring friends! Details: Club CafĂ©. 209 Columbus Ave., Boston. Shows at 4pm & 7:30pm. Ticket information available here.
