This story is a POV from Danny Wong, the Lead Evangelist of Blank Label – a provider of custom men’s dress shirts.

As a fashion enthusiast, I always found shopping for clothes incredibly fun, but challenging because I always found things that I liked, but nothing that I ever loved because there was always something wrong with it, or something missing.

When I did find something that I loved, I had to face the harsh reality that there were many dapper men out there that had already bought the same thing. My chances of running into someone wearing that hot item would be high, too, because it was such an awesome item.

Shopping at retail stores can be especially awful because of:

1. Long lines and lots of people

2. Clothes you don’t like

3. Clothes you do like but ones that have something missing or something you dislike

4. Clothes that have run out of, or don’t come in, your color

5. Clothes that everyone else wears

6. Clothes that run out of your size

7. Clothes that don’t fit right

All of these problems inspired me to start my own fashion company. At Blank Label, we’re empowering consumers to design their own dress shirts online. No lines, no people. We create individually made dress shirts that you designed, and the dress shirts are unique because YOU designed them. You get a dress shirt made to your exact specifications, and one that fits too.

As a highly metrosexual male (sorry, I’m not gay), I am a big on clothes that fit, and in having clothes that no one else will have. I only wear skinny or slim fit pants, and now my dress shirts will never be your normal standard size ever again. With boot-cut pants, you look shorter, and as an average height male, boot-cut is not flattering. With loose dress shirts, you always get that baggy ‘muffin-top’ that’s incredibly sloppy and unattractive.

I created Blank Label as a solution to the above 7 problems with fashion retail and mass-production. We’re a co-creation company, looking to connect consumers with manufacturers so YOU can get individually made product YOU designed.
