Pierced Arrows have been around for a little bit, and they are getting ready to release their sophomore record, Descending Shadows on their new home Vice Records. For those who may not know Pierced Arrows, one only has to look to Dead Moon, a much slept on garage rock group from the late eighties formed by Fred Cole. Dead Moon’s discography was neatly anthologized by Sub Pop on a pretty essential comp, Echoes of the Past. Cole and his wife (who was also in Dead Moon) have gone on to form Pierced Arrows, and their sounds aren’t that far from each other. This preview track, “Let It Rain” is a crunchy slow burner with a rallying chorus.
