The xx is becoming one of this year’s biggest bands by, paradoxically, thinking small. Their minimalist compositions and boy/girl seduction vocals are in stellar form on their track “VCR.” I’ve listened to that song so many times this year that I could never find myself by the sea because that would require leaving the house and turning off the xx. That’s why I was so happy to see the song has a new video, which I embedded below.
There is also a new video from eccentric low-fi savant artist Tune-Yards. They are also strangely mesmerizing, like watching a topless octogenarian on a treadmill. The song is called “Real Live Flesh” and you can watch it below.
