This didn’t get to go up last week, so I’ve decided instead of writing at length about why I love these records so much, I would just let the music do the talking. Here are my top 5 records of 2009 complete with videos. Be back next week for something more current.

I was a fan of Japandroid ever since the first EP, at the time they were just a local band from Vancouver and they stood out so much from the album. My love for the band lasts till the first time I saw them live and it ruined entirely what my imagine of who they are. I imagine them to be this dirty, hard rocking, raw kind of band. But live the lead dude had two HUGE shiny Fender amps at the side of the stage, and he had a personal fan, which he plugged in and put in front of him. So the fan was blowing wind while he plays guitar solos, and it’s like “wooooo, look at my hair blows, supermodel….” :) and both the drummer and the guitar player were in all white (shiny white shirt, white pants, white shoes), and it took them forever to go on stage, and they took their sweet time in between songs to drink water, adjust stuff. They came across this totally slick, shiny kind of band. Not really what I had in mind when I listen to their music on CD, so I stop caring
