I can’t believe the end of the beginning of 2010 is already upon us. Time continues to fly. This does mean, however, that we’re that much closer to warmer weather in our fair District, which is something to look forward to. But we’ll have to brave the snow and cold this weekend, as it appears January is set on giving us something to remember it by. Check out below for some suggestions of ways to celebrate or mourn the end of this month in DC this weekend.

Saturday

• Rock out and help young girls in DC do the same as Comet Ping Pong hosts Benefit and Showcase of young female-supported and -fronted bands in support of Girls Rock! DC. Details: Comet Ping Pong, 5037 Connecticut Ave, NW, 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., $5.
• Can’t get enough of supporting local queer female musicians and great causes? Then continue the party at the Wicked Jezabel Concert Benefiting Mautner Project at TOWN. Details: TOWN Danceboutique, 2009 8th St NW, 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., Cover charge is $15 and you may pay at the door ($10 of each ticket sold is being donated to Mautner Project.) Your cover proceeds are ONLY donated to Mautner Project from 7-11 p.m. so even if you can’t make it to the concert, make sure you get there by 11 p.m. to party!
