Song of the Day: Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, “Even Heroes Have To Die”
Everyone has those records that got them through college. Ted Leo is lucky enough to have supplied me with a couple. From the brilliant Hearts of Oak to the equally as awesome follow-up Shake the Sheets, Ted Leo has been cranking out good, honest indie rock for years. Aside from what i consider a misstep, 2007′s Living with the Living, Ted Leo is a jam machine. He’s also been known to curse a few labels on the way. Now on his fourth label, Matador, and seventh record, 2010′s The Brutalist Bricks, Leo and his band of Pharmacists are prime to please, let’s just hope Matador doesn’t go under in the process. The first offering (courtesy of the Matablog), Even Heroes Have to Die, is an upbeat rocker much in the style of Leo’s other work. If this is any sign of things to come, you better mark March 9th 2010 on your calendar!
