Event Details: San Francisco Weekend Preview: The Cold As S**t Edition - :
Maybe it’s the pre-winter cold that descended on the Bay Area here– below 50 degrees is considered freezing for San Francisco (yeah, we’re pussies…)– but there ain’t much going on this weekend. It’s perfect weather for staying inside and cuddling with your significant other or whoever you found on Craigslist. Nonetheless, I have managed to cobble together a few things that are worth the trouble of venturing out into the crisp fall air. Onward…
Tonight
- Gossip @ Mezzanine. Those of you extra eager beaver scene-queens probably got your tickets to see Gossip at Mezzanine before it sold out. So this is, uh, a little after the fact to post here now… But maybe you can find a way to crash the party. Passion Pit and Hey Champ round out the triple bill. Details: Doors open at 8 PM, at Mezzanine on 444 Jessie Street and Mint.

Sunday
- Keith Hennessy’s SALIVA. According to the press kit, queer artist, Keith Hennessy, founded Circo Zero Performance, “a laboratory for live performance that defies genre and expectation. Rooted in dance, Hennessy’s work embodies a unique hybrid of performance art, music, visual and conceptual art, circus, and ritual.” This Sunday, Hennessy reenacts his landmark activist piece originally performed under a SoMa freeway in defiance of the AIDS crisis. The website says “Don’t wear nice shoes, dress for warmth.” Sounds inviting, eh? Details: Buy your tickets online, $15-$20, starts at 8 PM literally under a freeway in South of Market in San Francisco. On Clementina Street between 1st and 2nd Streets.
- Artists’ Television Access 25th Anniversary. The Mission-based artist shoppe, Artists’ Television Access, is having it’s milestone birthday party on Sunday and offers a line-up of diverse artist to partake in the celebration. A non-profit organization, the participating artists are often radical and activist and always independent. The organization also has a history of supporting the creative queer community. Details: Check out their website for a complete listing of events and showtimes.
