Song of the Day: Liars, “Scissor”
Fuck yeah! The Liars are one of the best bands on the planet. The Liars deliver such uncompromising music that it seems as if they could give two-fucks about any of their fans. From the witch-story They Were Wrong, So We Drowned to the drum heavy Drums Not Dead, Liars have been known to take the piss. 2007’s S/T record was a return to form, if you could call it that, for the band, as it was a little less weird. Those hoping the band will keep on that track might be a little surprised by this lead-off track from the bands upcoming 2010 (probably masterpiece) Sisterworld. “Scissor” starts slow with strings, thumping bass, vocal harmonies, and Angus’s deep voice to falsetto, before launching into a rocking assault. If this is any indication of what is to come, the Liars are tethering the line between weird and rock, and doing it better than anyone else. Check this shit out!
