Los Angeles: Grrl Fair in San Diego

Although my job as TNG’s LA Editor is to keep you abreast of events here in LA and the vicinity, I thought I’d bring this event in San Diego to your attention: Grrl Fair is coming to Hillcrest on December 12 at The Center (3909 Centre Street)!

In past years, this event was based in Santa Ana. Not sure the move is permanent–OC could use more queer events like this!

From their myspace page:

San Diego Grrrl Fair is an event showcasing and celebrating the contributions of womyn in art, music, and other forms of expression, as well as promoting progressive views that actively combat sexism, racism, homophobia, classism, and oppression of any kind. It is a safe space dedicated to all marginalized people- including, but not exclusively, womyn born or self-identified, queer, gender non-conforming individuals, people of color, and under-privileged individuals. It exists so that we may begin a dialogue within our communities to encourage consciousness, empowerment, and the active participation of womyn. Lastly, we hope to motivate other communities to encourage consciousness and, eventually, create a more inclusive and harmonious society.
