Well, it’s here. Another one bites the dust. 2009 is over, and so are the aughts. See below for ways to say goodbye to 2009 and hello to 2010 in the District this weekend.

New Year’s Eve

• One Nation Under a Groove: Busboys and Poets is ringing in the New Year by hosting two parties for the price of one; 14th & V and 5th & K. Come and party with a purpose, among friends and like-minded progressives! For just $65 ($75 at the door) plus tax and gratuity, you will enjoy: An open bar all night long; Delicious food that satisfies every taste bud (meat, veggie, vegan); DJ Oso Fresh and DJ Underdog who will be spinning fresh and groovy beats;  midnight champagne toast; A party bus to transport guests from party to party; Dancing like there’s no tomorrow; and $10 Donation to your choice of pre-selected nonprofits.
• BYT Presents 2010: A Space Fantasy: BrightestYoungThings has got three theme rooms, sparkle motion dance floors, stilt walkers, moon bounces, balloon animals, polar bear club diving contests, and laser tag in the parking garage, all at the Capitol Skyline Hotel. They’ll also have DJs around every corner like the Fatback crew, AutoRock, Shea Van Horn of Mixtape, DJ RAD of Pink Sock, and the Rave Camp DJs: Daniella Downs, Simon, Empath, Amitai, Charly C, and maybe Cale if he’s not running around like a maniac.
• Halo’s New Year’s Eve Party: Ring in the new year with all your friends, great music from MIXTAPE DJ Matt Bailer, and cheap drinks at Halo. No cover charge!! Open Bar (Rail & Red Bull) from 10-11 PM. Plus $1 shots every hour and Kettle One specials, all night starting at 9 PM. Champagne toast at midnight and any Bottle Service will include 5 free cans of Red Bull.
• New Year’s Eve 2010 @ Jimmy Valentine’s Lonely Hearts Club: NYE at Jimmy Valentine’s includes the underground house sounds of DJ LOVEGROVE, FIL LATORRE, LEXUS KING and AXIOM & BRANDON BLACK, a special house-music tag team set by DJs RAY CASIL & SLANT and an opening Set by vAnniety kills (LipstickInDC). Saturday

• Take a trip back to the future with TNG at Homo/Sonic: 2010 featuring guest DJ Natty Boom. Details: The Black Cat, 1811 14th St NW, 9:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m., 18+, $10.
• Kick off the new decade at a party with a strict gear, rubber, skin, uniform or leather dress code: CODE, presented by David Merrill & Jacob Nathaniel Pring w/ DJ Shea Van Horn. Details: EFN Lounge, 1318 9th Street NW, 9:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m., 18+, $10.
