Happy Thursday, DC-ites! Today is the 17th, which means Christmas Eve is officially one week away. I know, I can’t beleive it either. We Districts queers got a special holiday present this year: a vote by the City Council to legalize gay marriage! Now, as long as a couple of Scrooges in Congress don’t mess it up, you may be spending next holiday season with your husband/wife (I’ll let you decide for yourself whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing). And so, what better way to celebrate this holiday miracle than with a couple of drag shows taking place in the District this weekend? Check out all the details below.

Drag Shows
- Watch Jesus’ mother sets the record straight in Madonna’s Christmas Celebration, a musical retelling of the birth and life of the young Jesus Christ starring NYC drag sensation Mimi Imfurst. Details: Thursday, December 17 @ 7:30 p.m. & Friday, December 18 @ 9:30 p.m., EFN Lounge, 1318 9th Street NW, Run Time: approximately 90 minutes, Tickets: $10 in advance, $15 at the door.
- Head to GALA Hispanic Theatre, where Martha Graham Cracker will be presenting a sultry and dazzling drag cabaret of song, sass and laughter that will entertain and lift your holiday spirits. Details: Friday, December 18 & Saturday, December 19, GALA Hispanic Theatre, 3333 14th Street, 8:00 p.m., For tickets call (202) 234-7174 OR 800-494-8497 or visit www.galatheatre.org, Regular tickets are $25 and $18 for students. Limited cabaret seating on stage is available for $30 per ticket. Group rates are also available.
