Event Details: Author Appearance: Porn Star Aiden Shaw @ Lambda Rising - Lambda Rising Bookstore: Thursday, December 3

aiden_shawLambda Rising Bookstore will host author and porn star Aiden Shaw this Thursday. Shaw will answer questions, sign books, and take pictures with fans.

About the Book

Sordid Truths chronicles Aiden Shaw’s ascent from being just another broke and very horny college boy, who dabbled with the idea that he could sell his young body for hard cash, to becoming the internationally renowned adult film idol.

After finishing just one year of his BA degree, Shaw was twenty-one and easily lured away from study by the lusty mix of sex and money in London. Within a short time on the scene, he gained infamy and was something of a celebrity within his field. Peddling his flesh took him to the steamy underbelly of the U.K.’s decadent capital city in the late 80’s. Here he rubbed shoulders and other body parts with wealthy, weird, and wonderful eccentrics, famous- and famously closeted-Euro trash personalities and the celebrated elite.

However, working as a prostitute turned minor league once gay porn sensation Chi Chi La Rue took Polaroids of Shaw naked and aroused and launched his career. His rise to stardom has been documented by the adult industry’s leading studios in more than fifty films that have won him numerous awards and even more notoriety as the complex and multi-talented character that he’s become known by many.

About the Author

Aiden Shaw is the author of the bestselling memoir My Undoing: Love in the Thick of Sex, Drugs, Pornography, and Prostitution, which follows chronologically the events of Sordid Truths. Shaw is also the author of three novels, Brutal, Wasted, and Boundaries, as well as a volume of poetry, If Language at the Same Time Shapes and Distorts Our Ideas and Emotions, How Do We Communicate Love?

about lambna rising – what an obvious place for that hero – f kameny to write his WHOLE bio- and to fill in all the dots.

he made a big deal about encouraging gays to acome out to their families, but he did not have the guts to do so, and thus his sister had to do it, and suffer the mother’s tantrums and suicide threats.Where was he when his mother had cancer, when his sister had cancer, when his sister’s husband died?

He says he has no family. his mother was 1 of 10 siblings, his father 1 of 5. He had 16 cousins. he chose to walk away

he inherited large amounts of money, secretly squandered but preferred to whine about living on 20 cents a day. Nonesense!

His sister helped him at every turn, but he turned against her, became heterophobic and accused her of “coming at me with hob-nail boots”, enjoyed many many gracious hostings, returned only with vicious responses, until she had to give up. she tried for years to help. too many things to enumerate, too many insults to forget.

he refused to ever look for a job in priv. industry = “I am not cut out for a 9-5 job” , preferred hand-outs and charity. prized title of “DR.” comes from gov’t money from the bill of rights.

he whined about money; he DEMANDED money from his mother and sister. how else could he buy the house at 5020? He was panicked in 1984 and we bought the house.

I am that sister, and have endured years of insults, and never gratitute. I could easily write a book for that book-store. he did not,; if he did he would would have to leave out a lot of untruths.

I am glad for the good things he has done; he did not have to do them at my expense. Much of what he did was out of egomania, obefssional monomania, and for fame and glory. I would have liked to be proud of him instead of suffering the pain he has inflicted upon me.

I do not deny the good he did, but a lot at my expense, and a lot for his own fame and glory.
