Event Details: Today - Stand Up Against Hate @ The Justice Department Building - :

love_legitToday, pastors and religious leaders will come to DC for the “Rally for Religious Freedom,” to espouse words of hatred and violence against gays and lesbians as a way to “prove” that the Matthew Shepard Act threatens their freedom of speech.

As a result some young people are getting organized to form a counter-demonstration:

“These pastors do not realize the real and significant danger they inflict upon young people everywhere. Their words will be used to rile violence nationally; an action that we know can have devastating results. As a young community here in DC, we have an opportunity to stand up and show these people who their words affect — young, rationally minded students and individuals. We will NOT be an angry mob — no megaphones necessary for this action. Leave em home!”

Get organized. Invite your friends. Take a stand against hate.

Details:
