sia-blue-skySia, I owe you an apology. I used to think you were some bullshit Beth Orton wannabe who made mom-rock. I mean that last record was full of shit songs, and don’t get me started about that garish cover. But hot damn, like this song states, “you’ve changed for the better.”  This track rides that Ting-Tings stlye post-dance-rock beat, and even better, Sia’s usually warbley vocals don’t grate. Dear Sia, hopefully you follow this path and ditch that other shit. You are meant to be a Pop singer, not a discount Lilith Fair castoff.

You’ll have to wait till 2010 for Sia’s new record We Are Born, but this song should hold you over.

Editor’s note. Apparently Sia is still dating JD Sampson of MEN and Le Tigre. Hot lady rock couples make me swoon.  -ME

I thought Sia had a couple fun pop numbers on her last record (“Buttons”, “The Girl I Lost To Cocaine”) and of course I’ll be forever in love with “Breathe Me” for so emotionally ending one of my favorite TV series of all time. This is promising though. I’ve always enjoyed her presence and her contributions to the Zero 7 albums.
