As your San Francisco Events Editor, I’m all about telling you what’s going on instead of what’s not. And so it’s with great pains that I report that Charlie Horse is calling it quits. What’s possibly worse about the end of the five-year alterna-cabaret is the reason why Anna Conda is shutting it down. Blame the gentrification of the Polk Street district, the Castro of yesteryear. Hopefully this is not a trend that will worsen with the actual closing of gay bars like The Cinch and Deco Lounge.
