TNG TV: Girls explain “Lust for Life’s” gay porn video

Whether you like San Francisco indie band Girls or think they sound like Soul Asylum, you have to agree that they’ve done some cool things for queer visibility in indie rock with their single “Lust for Life” and its accompanying video (below.) The song features the band’s singer/songwriter, Christopher Owens, singing that he wished he had a boyfriend. The recently released uncensored version of the song takes it up a notch by having former Gravy Train member Seth “Hunx” Bogart use his own sizeable ding dong as a microphone.

I tracked the band down at the Black Cat last Tuesday and had them explain a little bit about the song, the reason the video has so much dick in it, and whether or not either of the members are gay. Check it out above, and be sure to check out the video below when you’re done.
