Washington DC: DC Weekend Preview: Women’s Words Edition
Happy Weekend, DC peeps! I spent my day off yesterday trying to make some much needed headway on my soon-to-be-due graduate thesis on African feminist approaches to peacebuilding and post-conflict societal transformation (yeah, don’t ask). As an unintended side effect, my already ardent feminist tendency have been ramped up and visions of caterwauling about the patriarchy have been dancing in my head. Don’t you hate with then happens? Anyway, it doesn’t take an overdose of femiladyism to see a common theme of DC events this weekend: celebrating women’s words, whether they come from a poet, singer, author or storyteller.
As always, if you know of an event coming up that you think your fellow TNG readers might enjoy, send the details to events@thenewgay.net and/or leave them in the comments below and we’ll throw them up on the calendar ASAP. And don’t forget, you can always find out about all kinds of DC-related events and stories by following the TNGDC Twitter feed.
