This disturbed me so I'm sharing it with you.
The first holiday of the fall is upon us: Thanksgiving. Everyone seems to have mixed feelings about Turkey day. Some friends of mine are excited to travel home to visit family. Others have already made plans to drink away the pain before and after Thanksgiving. Whatever your plans, Chicago has some events to make sure you don’t sleep you weekend away from all that Turkey!

- Enjoy a home cooked Thanksgiving Day meal at the Wild Pug. Dinner, which includes Turkey, Blue Cheese Dressing, Cranberries, Green Beans, Sweet Potato and Pecan or Pumpkin Pie, will be served at 4pm. Wild Pug, 4810 N. Broadway Ave, $5, 3pm.
- Don’t bother cooking for Thanksgiving! Enjoy a fabulous three-course prix-fixe menu at Palette Bistro, with a full wine list available, and of course, the bar will be open. Seating is limited, so make your reservations early by calling 773 477 2565. Palette Bistro, 2834 N Southport Ave, $32, 1pm.
- Hyatt Regency O’Hare, is featuring a delicious Thanksgiving meal for the whole family at O’H American Grill, the hotel’s luxurious new restaurant. - Girlie-Q Productions, Chicago’s premiere LGBT alternative to mainstream burlesque, presents its first original, full-length production, Delight Before Christmas, a sexy, campy, comic burlesque journey to discover the meaning of Christmas, starring Faustina von Feist, Honey La Fleur, Paul “Pusie” Backer, Adam “Elena” Rose, Kelly “Special K” Kiorpes, Brad “Jugglemaster” French, Kyler Greer, Brad “Emoclown” Brubaker, and the Amazing, Bendable, Poseable Dolls of Doom, with nightly guest stars from the Chicago and national burlesque and queer performance scenes. - Hannah Free, an independent film shot in Chicago last year, will make a return engagement to the Gene Siskel Film Center of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago after numerous sold-out shows during its recent Chicago theatrical run. Sharon Gless and a cast of Chicago stage veterans star in the passionate lesbian drama Hannah Free, a film about a lifelong love affair between an independent spirit and the woman she calls home. The film also stars Taylor Miller ( All My Children ) , Maureen Gallagher, Ann Hagemann, Kelli Strickland and Jacqui Jackson. Hannah Free is directed by Wendy Jo Carlton and written by Claudia Allen ( based on her acclaimed stage play). Gene Siskel Film Center, 164 N State, $10, 8pm.
- In Mother Superior’s Ho-Ho-Holy Night, Vicki Quade, creator of the hit show Late Nite Catechism, sends Mother Superior to a new parish to help create a holiday pageant like never before. As always, Mother Superior’s ruler is quick, her aim is spot-on, and she wants to help the folks at St. Gabriel’s come up with a new holiday pageant that will impress the Vatican and win an audience with the Pope! An interactive experience, the audience not only gets to vote on which Christmas family traditions to feature, but there are also prizes for those who can answer Mother Superior’s trivia questions. Lisa Braatz and Margaret Kustermann will alternate in the role of Mother Superior. Royal George Theatre, 1641 N. Halsted, $30, 8pm.
